Alarm++ - Reminder and Scheduling Utility
When the tasks pile on and on, it can be easy to forget about something you have to do. 12noon, the developer that comes up with Windows applications designed to make your life easier, more productive, and more enjoyable, has an application that will ensure you never forget about important tasks. The application in question is Alarm++, a handy utility that you can use to create reminders for anything you want.
Alarm++ can be installed on a PC powered by Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. To get the application up and running, you will have to go through a standard setup process. This means you will have to download an executable, run it, and then follow the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. When you’re done and you launch Alarm++ for the first time, it will automatically run a list of example reminders.
The application’s interface is divided into two panels: a list of templates to the left and a list of reminders to the right. Above them there’s a bar with buttons for creating new reminders, testing existing reminders, and so on. Way at the top there’s a traditional file menu.
While Alarm++ is running, you will notice an icon in the system tray. Left click it once and the application’s interface will show up. Double click it and you will be presented with the prompt for creating a new reminder. Right click it and you will be presented with a context menu that includes the options to create a reminder using a template, open the interface, and pause all alarms.
To help you better understand what can be done with Alarm++, the developer included a list of example reminders/alarms. You can test them, check out their properties, edit them, and so on. When creating a new reminder/alarm, you have the option to set up a standard alarm or use a template. There are a lot of details you can add to the reminder you create: custom messages, specify if it is a one time alarm or a repeat thing, choose how you want the reminder window to look, pick if you want a media file to be played, enter a piece of text to be spoken out loud, specify if you want an application to be run automatically, choose if you want an email to be sent out.
The Alarm++ trial is limited to five alarms at a time.
Make sure you don’t forget about important tasks by using the powerful functionality of Alarm++ to create a variety of reminders.
Pros
Little time and effort will go into getting Alarm++ up and running. The simple interface is easy to navigate. Creating reminders/alarms is a straightforward matter. There are several example reminders you can play with.
Cons
The trial is limited to five alarms.
